Top-seeded Riverside City College will host No. 3 College of the Canyons in the SCFA Championship after the two squads came away with very different victories in the regional semifinals on Saturday night.

Riverside improved to 11-0 with its impressive 48-0 rout of No. 4 Mt. San Antonio College. Jacob Barlage passed for 322 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but it was the Tiger defense that stole the show. Five different RCC defenders came away with interceptions while another nine passes were broken up. Mt. SAC (7-4) was held to a season-low 240 yards of offense.

Canyons led by 32 points early in the fourth quarter but had to hang on for a 58-53 win over Saddleback. The Gauchos (9-2) scored the game's final 27 points and nearly came away with a last-minute onside kick that would have given them one last chance for the win.

Saddleback totaled 743 yards of offense, led by quarterback Chance Nolan. He completed 33 of 47 passes for 390 yards and 5 touchdowns while running for 187 yards with a pair of TDs.

Early on, it was Canyons putting up the offensive numbers. Quarterback Armani Edden tossed 4 touchdowns, including a 78-yard strike to Tiquan Gilmore that gave COC what seemed to be an insurmountable 51-19 lead at the 7:22 mark in the third quarter.
