The Southern California Football Association has announced changes to its divisions and leagues for the next upcoming two-year cycle, beginning with the 2020 fall season.
"On Jan. 31, the SCFA Competition Committee met at El Camino College to develop the placement of teams for the next two-year scheduling cycle," said SCFA Commissioner Jim Sartoris. "Keeping in mind one of the stated goals of the SCFA – 'To bring uniformity, strength and competitive balance to Southern California Community College football' and following Addendum B of the SCFA Bylaws, the committee adjusted the National and American Division placement of teams and then adjusted league placement within the divisions for competitive balance."
Based on win/loss records over the previous two-year cycle, movements were mandatory by the top three teams from the American Division to the National Division and bottom three teams from the National to the American.
Moving from the American to the National are Allan Hancock College, Chaffey College, and San Bernardino Valley College. Shifting from the National to the American are Grossmont College, Moorpark College, and Orange Coast College. The movement caused a reorganization of the leagues in both divisions. The following are the league memberships for the 2020 and 2021 seasons:
|Northern League||Central League||Southern League|
|East Los Angeles||Mt. San Antonio||San Bernardino Valley|
|Long Beach||Palomar||San Diego Mesa|
|Pacific League||Metro League||Mountain League|
|LA Valley||LA Harbor||Grossmont|
|Moorpark||Orange Coast||LA Southwest|
|Santa Barbara||Santa Ana||Mt. San Jacinto|
